Two years ago, Rick Silvia formed Dream Street Stallions. “My goal was to make some of the top European bloodlines available to breeders in the U.S”, said Silvia, “In addition I wanted to contribute to the promotion of the sport using the stallions”, Silvia added. Silvia made his dream a reality.
In the past two years the Dream Street stallions have been highly visible in promoting the sport in exhibitions, symposiums, and of course, horse shows. In December of 2007, Dream Street’s Starlight garnered national attention was he was honored as the 2007 USDF Dressage Sport Horse Breeding Highest Scoring Champion as he had the highest median of all 2007 DSHB HOY Champions. The StallionExpo.com Perpetual Trophy awarded to Starlight for that honor resides in the USDF trophy case in the Hall of Fame.
“We had a very exciting year in 2007”, said Silvia, “Deborah Howe’s addition of the grand prix stallion, Fantasma, has brought a new dimension to Dream Street Stallions. A grand prix stallion of Fantasma’s caliber offers new opportunities for promotion and competition.” Silvia rode Fantasma in the Florida Horse Capital Expo last fall and the also won the recent “Dressage Under the Stars” Grand Prix competition on Fantasma. Fantasma was also ridden by Olympian, Steffen Peters in the recent Challenge of the Americas fundraiser.
Silvia’s goal is to perpetuate these stallion’s bloodlines in the U.S. “This has been a very challenging year for many breeders. Rising fuel and hay costs have taken their toll on all horse owners this year,” said Silvia. To help breeders in a small way, Silvia initiated the Dream Street Stallion breeding fee Super Sale. “Anyone who books one of our stallions in the next ten days will enjoy an $800. discount on their stud fees,” Silvia explains. During the Super Sale, Starlight and Lullaby who’s fees 2008 breeding fees are $2000, will be available for a reduced fee of $1200. Fantasma’s introductory fee of $1300 will be reduced to $500 for the duration of the sale. The Dream Street Stallion Super Sale runs from March 24th-April 2nd. Mare owners can book and pay online during the sale at www.dreamstreetstallions.com.
“It may seem a little unusual, but a sale is a great way for mare owners to breed to these top stallions even in tight economic times,” says Silvia. Persons interested in taking advantage of the Dream Street Stallions Super Sale can get complete details at www.dreamstreetstallions.com.
