Double European Bronze for Marvin and Deborah Hausman's Nassau

Marvin and Deborah Hausman's BMC Nassau won two bronze medals at the 2005 European Show Jumping Championships in San Patrignano, Italy. Under Dutch team rider and former Olympic gold medallist Jeroen Dubbeldam, Quailhurst's Nassau captured a team bronze medal with the Dutch team and an individual bronze medal in Italy.

The individual gold went to German Marco Kutscher, who already won team gold with the German equipe, kept his nerves and added the individual European Gold to his collection. Kutscher rode the KWPN licensed stallion Montender (by Contender x Burggraaf). He preserved his lead for the individual title on 7,79, less than one point in front of Swiss Christina Liebherr (8.69) and Dutch Jeroen Dubbeldam (11,62).

Christina Liebherr is the second woman to win a European medal for Switzerland, twenty years after Heidi Hauri. The 26 year old from Bulle is trained by German Susanne Behring. She competed at Athens (14) and holds two bronze medals from Juniors level. Her brown gelding L.B. No Mercy passed the five big courses at San Patrignano with only one pole down.

Dutch Jeroen Dubbeldam (32) followed the example he set at the Olympic Games in Sydney where he took individual Gold with De Sjiem, being considered a complete outsider. He rode the 10-year old KWPN licensed stallion stallion BMC Nassau in a clear round, coming forward onto the podium from fifth rank after the first round of the final.

Americans Marvin and Deborah Hausman are the owners of BMC Nassau, a Indoctro x Sovereign Bill xx offspring, bred by Mr Hagedoorn from Wierden, The Netherlands. Marvin Hausman is a medical doctor doing breaking research in the field of Alzheimer's disease. Deborah is a successful dressage rider who runs Quailhurst stables and vineyard.
