Wellington, FL - Danielle Goldstein, of Starwyn Farms, LLC, is really having a 'Year of the Horse.' Earlier this month, the international show jumping star was among the 'Heroes in the Community' lauded at the FTI Consulting Great Charity Challenge, and now it appears she's going to be a creative muse for equestrian fashion designer and sponsor, Charles Ancona.
“Charles is an innovator in the world of equestrian fashion, and I like to consider myself a little 'fashion forward' at times, so it seems like a perfect fit,” said Goldstein, who has galloped into the international grand prix spotlight since serving last summer as chef d'equipe for Israel's Gold medal-winning Maccabiah Games show jumping squad, and qualifying as a rider for both the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy and ECCO FEI European Show Jumping Championships.
Grand prix show jumping helped make the stylish connection, Goldstein said. “I first heard about and met Charles at the Fidelity Jumper Classic in New Hampshire a few years ago.” Since then, her efforts to ride for Israel as its first female show jumping team member, and to develop more FEI-level riders and horses for that country, took a fashionable aside with a contest for up-and-coming young designers to create the next equestrian team jacket for Israel.
Now, it's Goldstein who's been 'collared' by Ancona's generous support.
“The sponsorship helps me in numerous ways, from creating a unified and professional look, to giving me a comfortable way to compete while still expressing my personal style.
“Jackets these days have become a fashion statement but still need to be functional, which Charles' designs are. His jackets fit well, are modern and high tech, and lightweight, without a lining, which is a huge plus for riders.”
Charles Ancona, of Ancona Design Corporation, has been designing and manufacturing technical and fashion stretch apparel for over 20 years. He has been featured in Vogue, Mademoiselle, Marie Claire, GQ and other national publications. He specializes in garments using high tech stretch fabrics imported from Italy and manufactured in New York City.
As Goldstein prepares for World Equestrian Games in Normandy, she won't have to worry about wearing the 'same look' as anyone else: “I just got a new design from Charles that highlights a color on both the collar, and the wrists, which no one else is doing at the moment.”
With confidence in the extraordinary equestrienne he is sponsoring, it's a good bet that whatever color Charles Ancona provides, it will look stunning with blue.
