Day Eight At the NRHA Futurity

With snow mostly melted and the highways cleared, fans can begin to make their way to the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds arena for the most exciting two days of the National Reining Horse Association Futurity.

Today is 4-H and FFA Day at the NRHA Futurity and 4-H and FFA students from all over the state of Oklahoma will attend a seminar with United States Equestrian Team Reiner and 1999 NRHA Futurity Champion Dell Hendricks. They will be special guests of the NRHA at the Friday evening performance.

The Annual NRHA Intercollegiate Judging Contest got underway early this morning, with over a hundred volunteer scribes showing up at 6:30 to assist with the contest, which features students from more than a dozen colleges.

At noon the NRHA Gathering of Legends Hall of Fame reception will be held at the NRHA Office on the Fairgrounds. Then, at 3 pm, it's the Intermediate Open Finals!

A highlight which will begin the evening performance tonight will be a special ceremony honoring Topsail Whiz as the National Reining Horse Association's newest Million Dollar Sire. That's followed by an action-filled slate that features the ever-popular Open freestyle, and the Cinch Non Pro Futurity Finals. The Non Pro Finals is a clean-slate event - so top honors could go to any one of the 26 qualifiers.

Listed below are Non Pro, Intermediate Open and Open Finalists. For more information visit the NRHA web site at or call the NRHA Futurity press room at 405-948-6719.
