Lexington, KY— Custom Saddlery, the Official Saddle of the United States Dressage Team, will be supporting the nation’s top dressage riders by sponsoring the U.S. Dressage Finals at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, on November 5-9. Custom Saddlery fans will have a chance to check out all the company’s exquisitely crafted saddle models and try them on to discover the best fit.
Two Custom Saddle fitters, Julie Weitzel and Catherine Overstreet, will be available at the Custom booth at the Kentucky Horse Park to answer questions and give out free goodies. Custom Saddlery is an official Hospitality Sponsor of the U.S. Dressage Finals, which will showcase dressage’s most talented competitors in Adult Amateur and Open divisions at Training Level through Grand Prix.
With approximately 30 variations of saddles on display, there is sure to be a saddle in Custom’s booth to fit any horse and rider. The Custom Saddlery booth will feature a “horse” for competitors and spectators to try the saddle models out on, and competitors are welcome to bring by their own horses to try the models on, as well.
“We will be representing Custom Saddlery with our full line of saddles at the U.S. Dressage Finals,” Overstreet said. “We will be available for fittings, trials, and repairs. We will also be showcasing Custom's accessory line of girths and leathers. Custom offers an extensive selection of options for both horse and rider, allowing us to fit the pair as a whole rather than just the individual horse or the individual rider,” said Overstreet, who is a saddle fitter for Alabama, the Florida Panhandle, Louisiana, and Mississippi. “We also offer a multitude of style options to make your saddle unique. Our saddles are often referred to as ‘art’ as our craftsmanship and style is unmatched.”
Weitzel, who services Ohio, Michigan, Eastern Indiana, and Western Pennsylvania, said that one of the many perks of a Custom Saddlery saddle is the availability of a host of well-trained saddle fitters who are ready to make adjustments to the saddle at any time. “Custom Saddles are adjustable with a saddle fitter as the horse changes, so there’s no need to constantly buy a new saddle,” Weitzel explained.
Weitzel herself knows how customizable these saddles are from experience— she rides her Andalusian in a Custom Icon Flight. “I’m 4’11”, so I’m really tiny,” she laughed. “We moved the knee rolls back three quarters of an inch, and we also took the flap off because I’m so short. We can customize these saddles to be however the riders want them. We can do almost anything—it’s amazing.”
To see just how much dressage riders love Custom saddles, take a look in the show ring at the 2015 U.S. Dressage Finals. The Official Saddle of the U.S. Dressage Team has several sponsored riders who will be competing at the Finals in their favorite Custom models. Last year, the 2014 U.S. Dressage Finals Grand Prix Champion was Custom Saddlery sponsored rider Devon Kane.
