Cindy and Eliza currently have fifteen horses in the barn, more than in the past. They include several that are in training with Eliza: a Lipizzaner 4-yr-old gelding, a 4-yr-old Oldenburg mare, a 5 yr-old Hannoverian mare, and a 4 yr-old Hannoverian/TB gelding – as well as several students' horses. Cindy is riding her new Dutch gelding "Onno," a 17.1 hh, 1996 gelding by Ferro. He is a very dark bay who was imported from Holland by Belinda Nairn as a young horse and owned by Ann Villani until her untimely death in December of 2003. He has been shown through 2nd level and is working at 4th level. Cindy describes him as a very sensitive, willing horse who shows a lot of talent for everything that is asked of him.
Nebel Laureate (Chauncy) is a 17.1 hh, liver chestnut 1993 Hanoverian Gelding by Nebelhorn, owned by Bonnie Stedt from Millbrook, NY. He has been at Braeburn Farm since October, 2003. He has been successfully shown at the PSG by Cindy and is now working at I-1 as well as schooling piaffe and passage.
Her own horse Troy is a 1996 Oldenburg gelding. She says that he is a very sensitive, supple horse who has taken a long time to get strong in his body and confident in his mind. He is going very well now, having shown at First level, and is working at Second level.
Also, she adds with humor and delight, “Sometimes I'm allowed to ride Eliza's "Lancer," her Dutch PSG gelding!”
Eliza is showing her Dutch Warmblood Lancer at Prix St. Georges. Eliza will probably start riding the Lipizzaner mare Primavera II, a young Lipizzaner mare owned by Debbie McKnight in the spring. The mare has spent the winter with her owner in Statesville NC.
This mare was sired by the Lipizzan stallion shown by Michael Poulin, Favory Bora, and Cindy says that she is an exceptional mover for any breed.
