In front of a large number of supporters, never seen in Belgium before during a dressage competition, Mathias and Totilas tried their best to show supporters and opponents that it takes time for a rider and horse to grow and to become a team! The public saw a relaxed and harmonious test which was awarded with a score of 78.680%. Runners-up were Sweden's Jennie Larsson and Zircoon Spring Flower with 70,760%. Belgium can be satisfied with three riders in the top six. Laurence Vanommeslaghe finished in third with Avec Plaisir, Julie de Deken rode Lucky Dance to a good fifth place and mulitple Belgium Champion Jeroen Devroe finished in sixth place with his new horse Eres DL. Finland's Terhi Stegards took fourth place. All combinations will start in the Grand Prix Special on Saturday and the best eight combinations will start in the Freestyle on Sunday.
