At age 25, Cindy competed at the Grand Prix level on her Brazilian Thoroughbred gelding, Lover. In 1972, after four years spent in Brazil, Cindy moved home to the US, bringing Lover with her.
In 1975-77 she competed for positions on the Pan-American and Olympic teams and was long listed for the US Equestrian Team. This position gave her the opportunity to train with Colonel Ljundquist, whom she credits as one of her most revered and influential trainers.
Over the years, Cindy has trained eight horses from the start to Intermediaire and three to the Grand Prix.
