Washington, DC - Chrystine Tauber, of Wellington, Florida, has been elected to the American Horse Council’s Board of Trustees. Ms. Tauber is currently the President of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF).

"It is an honor to serve on the Board of Trustees and contribute to the important efforts of the AHC,” said Ms. Tauber. “The USEF has long supported the AHC in their mission to represent the interests of all segments of the industry in Washington, DC. I look forward to working closely together to protect and expand equestrian sport in America."

Ms. Tauber previously served as Secretary for the United States Equestrian Federation, and has also been a member of the Planning, Licensed Officials and Hearing Committees. Tauber was a founding officer and Vice President of the U. S. Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) for eight years. She was appointed to the Kentucky Governor’s Advisory Commission for the 2010 World Equestrian Games. Tauber is also a Board member of the U.S. Equestrian Team Foundation, the Show Jumping Hall of Fame, and the USHJA Wheeler Museum.

While in the position of U.S. Equestrian Team (USET) Director of Show Jumping, Tauber served as Team Manager for all U.S. teams at the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Games, the 1983 and 1987 Pan Am Games, and for the Show Jumping World Championships in 1982 and 1986.

Tauber was also a member of the USET show jumping squad from 1965 to 1967 competing both in Europe and North America, and riding on several winning Nations Cup teams. Tauber has been judging horse shows, designing hunter and jumper courses, as well as training horses, teaching and conducting riding clinics since 1971.

“Not only is Ms. Tauber an accomplished equestrian,” said AHC President Jay Hickey, “she has an extensive equine business and industry background that will be very valuable to the AHC. We are pleased to have her working in yet another capacity to keep our industry strong and feel that she will be a great asset to the Board and the organization.”

Through her company Equistar International, based in Wellington, Florida, Ms. Tauber freelances as an equestrian consultant, private instructor, and continues to judge numerous horse shows throughout the United States and Canada, as well as international events both in and outside of North America.
