Wellington, FL - What little girl doesn't dream of riding her own white stallion? For Choice Of Champions Performance Award winner and adult amateur rider, Lourdes Ariza, such dreams have been reality, piloting her own Baroque stallion through their victory gallops at one of the most prestigious international dressage venues in the world.
Ariza and Naval Banamex, the now 15-year-old grey PRE stallion she has owned since a four year-old, lit up the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington during the twelfth and final week of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival National show series, presented by Diamante Farms, with top performances in every class.

The legacy of the Spanish purebred as a dressage athlete was evident as the pair performed to second-place in their first FEI Prix St Georges test with a 67.763%. Ariza, who rides for Spain and trains with Gary Rockwell, returned the following day to further dominate their discipline, winning their second FEI Prix St George class on an even better 68.224% score.

“He is so correct, in his mind and his body, and always has such a sweet personality,” said an obviously happy Ariza as she accepted her Choice Of Champions Performance Award from COC president, Allyn Maix. “I am so honored and appreciative to receive this award and beautiful saddle pad. The most important key to riding and performing well is to keep a horse sound and in the hands of a good trainer and good rider. I have been fortunate to have both.”

“You have such a lovely stallion. It's a pleasure to recognize your beautiful performances and the 'romance' you brought into our arena this week,” said Maix as she saluted the COC Performance Award winners and put the colorful tricolor champion's ribbons around the gentle stallion's neck.

The Choice Of Champions Performance Award has been saluting exceptional performances by horses and/or riders throughout the 2014 Adequan Global Dressage Festival. In 2006, Choice of Champions, International was started by Allyn Maix, whose own 30 years experience with horses inspired her to launch a line of specialized equine supplements designed to make a real difference in the performance and wellbeing of equine athletes.
