Drebkau, Germany— America’s most iconic combined driver, Chester Weber, drove his and Jane Clark’s team to victory in the dressage phase of the Drebkau CAI 3* combined driving event in Drebkau, Germany on Friday June 17. Once again living up to his longtime designation of “Mr. Dressage,” Weber topped the board of international competitors to take the lead in the FEI World Cup Qualification Four-in-Hand division.
The 13-time Four-in-Hand U.S. National Champion expertly drove a unique combination of his most trusted horses though unpleasantly slick conditions to deliver a decisive victory in the dressage phase. In preparation for the CHIO 4* in Aachen, Germany, this July, Weber relied on KWPN horses Para, Boris W, Uniek, and Splash to kick off the Drebkau CAI 3* with a victory.
“This team has been the backbone of our success for the past four years and is training in top form,” said Weber after his dressage win. “I am very happy to have this seasoned group back together. They really showcased their quality despite the deep footing.”
Weber is prepared to tactfully drive this dynamic combination through the rest of the weekend’s phases, hoping to maintain his team’s lead throughout the entirety of the Drebkau CAI 3*. Get on board with Weber and his team as they continue to strive for the 2016 World Four-in-Hand Championships in Breda, the Netherlands this summer.
