Bromont, Quebec - - International Bromont will host the first leg of the Longines FEI World Cup, North American League from August 5th to 9th at the Bromont Olympic Equestrian Park.
Only fourteen events were chosen across Canada, the United-States and Mexico as hosts to one of the steps of the World Cup, giving a chance to the best horse-rider pairs to qualify for the 2015/2016 season finale, held in Gothenburg (SWE), March 23rd to 28th, 2016. "It is an honor to have been chosen" according to show manager Roger Deslauriers. "We are happy to be part of this league. It is a unique opportunity to promote our athletes and the equestrian sport across the North-American scene."
Riders participating in the third week of the International Bromont will have to measure up against courses created by course designer Anthony D'Ambrosio (EU), who, of note, designed the course for the last Longines FEI World Cup finale in Las Vegas, in April 2015. Bromont is proud to count amongst its participants, Canadians Jill Henselwood, Jaclyn Duff, Elizabeth Gingras, Mac Cone and Kelley Robinson, Colombian Daniel Bluman, as well as American athletes Leslie Howard, Peter Leone and Quentin Judge, in addition to Russian Liubov Kochetova and Quebec's Bianca Lafontaine and Mélissandre Lincourt.
Mario Deslauriers' presence will delight fans throughout the third week, as will that of his daughter, young Lucy Deslauriers, who, of note, won the individual gold medal at the 2015 Junior and Young Riders Championships.
Competitions will resume for one last week of the 40th edition of the International Bromont, starting on Wednesday August 5th. Three FEI events are on the schedule for Thursday, Friday and Sunday August 6th, 7th and 9th. As for the popular Royal Canin Challenge, it will also be presented on Sunday August 9th, 2015.
