British wins at Hartpury Festival of Dressage


Set amongst the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside, the Hartpury Festival of Dressage has delivered five days of outstanding equestrian sport, including an FEI CDI***, an FEI CPEDI*** and, new for this year, the British Shearwater Young Dressage Horse Championship.Hartpury provided a fabulous setting for British team chef Richard Davison showing he is a very experienced and knowledgeable rider himself by winning two Grand Prix classes on Hiscox Artemis.

The Gala Evening entertained the 600 strong sell out crowd with the Shearwater Young Dressage Horse Supreme Championship and the BYRDS A Squad final won by Emma Gallagher from the Northern Region.Carl Hester, German judge Christoph Hess and Stephen Clarke hosted an interesting Master Class sponsored by Saracen Horse Feeds.During the pleasant evening, riders competed in the Hartpury College FEI CDI Grand Prix Freestyle. Trapeze artists from Circomedia stunned the crowds during their spectacular performance high above the arena surface before the prize giving for the Grand Prix Freestyle with prizes being awarded by Graham van der Lely, Chairman of the Board of Governors at Hartpury College.
