Brentina Cup Looking Good for Kassie Barteau and BeSe

The final day of the 2010 Gold Coast Opener had a different vibe than the first two days. Everything was quieter and calmer, and many competitors hit the road early in the morning.  With the wind whipping, the final rides of the show were a solid ending to a great weekend. The future looks bright for Kassie Barteau atop BeSé the KWPN gelding by Flemingh previously ridden by her trainer Cathy Morelli. The dynamic duo won the Brentina Cup class with an impressive score of 67.521 percent.

There is no doubt that Barteau will be a top contender for the 2010 USEF Young Adult Brentina Cup held in Gladstone, NJ. After a solid performance, Barteau feels confident. “I was so happy with him [Be Sé],” she said. “I feel our partnership is getting better.”  Barteau felt that the highlights of her ride were the extended trots and the passage.  Barteau who was the American representative for the FEI Young Rider World Cup in Frankfurt, Germany last December with Ginna Frantz's GP Raymeister, has been in full training with Cathy Morelli, in Little Ranches near Wellington as a working student. Kassie works works hard to earning her success with long hours as a working student.
