Kathy Priest - Dressage Rider, Trainer and Instructor
The 1987 stallion by Bolero and out of a Grande mare went to Bridlewood Farm in Union, Kentucky in 2006 ,where he still happily stands at stud. Kathy purchased Bordeaux as a two-year-old and competed him up to Intermediaire II. “Bordeaux pretty much got me started. I enjoyed a lot of success with him and enjoyed standing him.”
“Kathy and Bordeaux were great together,” says client and friend Brenda Katz. “She enjoyed him tremendously. He was just that special.” Katz owns a 2001 gelding by Bordeaux named Bangor, who she purchased from Kathy as a three-year-old. “He has so much of Bordeaux in him. He is so sweet—a great horse.”
Kathy still rides, trains and sells many of Bordeaux's get, and it is easy for the well trained eye to spot a Bordeaux offspring.
Together with selected mares, Bordeaux produces the perfect amateur lady's horse, usually always chestnut in color, great in the mind, with quality movement and easy trainability.
