Big Weekend In Wellington For Jumpers and Dressage

The Wellington Young Riders' Clinic sponsored by Weiss Family Chiropractic, featuring Olympian Steffen Peters and "O" Judge Anne Gribbons begins this evening with a series of lectures, followed by two days of under saddle instruction.

Wellington Classic Dressage Challenge II will be underway at 7:30 AM at the Palm Beach County Brandon Equestrian Center, where the final leg of the Wellington Classic Challenge will be decided. In the running for $15,000 in prize money are Shawna Harding and Come On III and Lars Petersen and Success. In the Markel/Wellington Classic Dressage Amateur Championship the final show will detrimine the winners of the Amateur awards and the Trainers Award presented by ThinLine. The winners and awards will be announced and presented at the Gold Coast grand Finale in April.

The 27 riders competing on three international teams in the Challenge of the Americas are geared up and ready to face off on March 8, 2008, in the International Arena at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, FL. In its seventh edition, this annual fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation features Grand Prix dressage in Musical Quadrilles and Grand Prix show jumping in High Jump competition.
