Kelly Hayner, Laurie Moore and Christina Moore posted huge scores this past weekend at the Waterloo August Dressage Show. Hayner and Morenzo dominated the PSG while Moore and Nicolet won with ease in the Intermediare 1.
Kelly Hayner of Michigan rode her dazzling 11-year-old chestnut KWPN gelding, Morenzo (x Cabochon) to a breath taking 74.5% win in Saturdays class. This score also earned her the FEI Champion High Point Ribbon for the entire 5-day show. After a stunning warm up, Morenzo put in a huge spook just moments before the start of the test that made the crowd gasp, but Hayner handled the situation with flying colors. She immediately got his attention back to her, cantered down centerline and performed a beautiful test. The trot work was huge and elastic which showcased Morenzos gigantic trot extensions and super half passes. The canter was very uphill with sweeping half passes and classically correct pirouettes. We are still getting to know each other. I have had him a little less than a year now and feel like we are really becoming a team this season. Whatever made him spook gave him a little extra spark for the test. He felt great today!
Laurie Moore of Lowell, Michigan rode her diva, Nicolet to a well-deserved score of 70.75% in the Intermediare 1 on Friday. Nicolet (x Voltaire) is a 10-year-old KWPN bay mare whom Laurie has owned for the past 5 years. Nicolet was imported from the Netherlands as a promising youngster and has been brought along by Laurie. The paired showed off their flawless tempis, beautiful half passes and a super extended walk to win the class with grace.

Waterloo shows have a strong gathering of Region 2 riders because the show is managed very well, which makes the atmosphere fun to be a part of. Bradbury Management always does a super job of keeping every detail organized to ensure a great experience for competitors and their horses. Bradbury Management has been chosen to put on the Regional Championships in Columbus, Ohio September 7 through 11. The show staff is very accommodating and has a neat personal appeal. Every member of the staff puts in 100% effort throughout the show to make sure everything runs smoothly for the riders and judges.
Judge Lilo Fore enjoys coming to judge shows at Waterloo that are put on by Bradbury Management. “Waterloo is a very fun and competitive atmosphere. We’ve had a lot of rain this weekend, but the show management has maintained footing that is very safe. Every ring was dragged regularly to prevent the footing from getting slippery. They have done a great job organizing this event and I am proud to be a part of it!”
