Bethany Peslar Shows Consistency

Second place in both the Individual (65.8%) and Team (63.8%) Young Riders tests at the Heidelberg Cup went to nineteen-year-old Bethany Peslar of Wellington, Florida, riding her KWPN gelding Iwan (Rossini x Wanda). "He was more relaxed than at the first show," said Bethany. "The Individual test was pretty accurate, with a little mistake in the rein-back, but otherwise okay. He's light and forward and nice to sit." At the Palm Beach Dressage Derby the pair won the Individual test (67.5%).

Peslar's family is building a training center adjacent to the Palm Beach Polo Club and trainer Judy DeWinter of the Netherlands will move there in September. "We met about a year and a half ago and she came to visit," said Bethany. "It worked out to have a few sales horses, and then we decided on a partnership."

WEF Dressage Classic: Lipp Scores with Douwe and Aragonis

Karen Lipp and Douwe won the Intermediaire -1 Freestyle with 69.63% despite that the sky opened up and poured rain during their test. They also continued to collect points for going to Gladstone, placing third in the Intermediaire I USET qualifier with 65.5. The pair was third at Gladstone last year and Lipp says she would like to do well with him this year before she moves him up.

Lipp also placed second on Aragonis in Fourth level test one with 67%. He is a 16.1h Oldenburg that she says is "really green. I'm pleased with him because he was steady and light and I'm riding him for his very small owner." Aragonis was imported from Germany as an approved stallion but they gelded him because his owner is an amateur.
