Wellington, FL - Benjamin Pfabe and Walberto WOR danced to victory and The Horse of Course High Score Award at the 2015 AGDF 10 National competition, scoring an impressive 78.676% in the First Level Test 3. In only their third time down centerline, the pair left quite an impression and scored higher than any other competitor of the week had yet achieved. Pfabe, a German rider now based in the U.S., was very happy with the winning ride and felt that his horse was, too. “Walberto is really proud of going into the show ring,” he smiled. Walberto, owned and bred by Jackie Nixon-Fulton, is a six-year-old Hanoverian (Wamberto x Rosentanz x Rosenthal) gelding.

Nixon-Fulton said, “I knew from the beginning he was a very special colt. It is pretty special to have a U.S. born horse do extremely well. I’d like to hope that more people would buy U.S. born horses and know that they can get good ones here.”

Walberto certainly looks poised to have a bright future. Nixon-Fulton remarked, “The ultimate goal is the FEI.” In the short-term, Pfabe says he is working on his flying changes with Walberto and may try to compete in the FEI Dressage Test for 6-Year-Old Horses later this year. German rider Michael Klimke has been providing coaching assistance while the pair is in Florida, which Nixon-Fulton says has been a tremendous help to the team.
