Lexington, KY – This New Year is particularly remarkable for Alltech as the global animal health and nutrition leader rings in “The Year of the Games” – the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010™. The Alltech Games, to be held in Lexington, Ky., USA, from September 25th – October 10th, are composed of eight world championships representing the pinnacle in equestrian sport.

The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010™ will define a new chapter in the history of the World Equestrian Games as the first time the Games have been held outside of Europe and the first time that all competition events will be held at one location – the 1,200 acre Kentucky Horse Park. The 16-day competition involving 600 riding competitors and 700 horses from more than 60 countries is expected to be attended by as many as 600,000 spectators and viewed on television by an international audience exceeding 460 million people.
Like the Olympics, the World Equestrian Games are held every four years and are the world championships for the eight equestrian disciplines recognized by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI). Previous host cities include Stockholm, The Hague, Rome, Jerez, and, most recently, Aachen.
