Tampa, FL - February 9, 2012 - The 2012 Tampa Equestrian Series is pleased to announce that it will be featuring 'AA' rated hunter divisions during their 2012 competition. Stadium Jumping, Inc., one of the nation's leading horse show production companies, will be hosting the two-week equestrian event at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, FL.
The Tampa Equestrian Series also features the 40th Annual $200,000 Gene Mische American Invitational presented by G & C Farm, held under the lights at Raymond James Stadium on April 7, 2012. The world's top equestrians will come together for Tampa Equestrian Series' two weeks of competition, held from March 28 - April 7, 2012, to vie for the winning titles at this prestigious event.
During the Tampa Equestrian Series riders will have the opportunity for championship and reserve championship honors in the professional hunter divisions, Junior Hunter divisions, and Amateur-Owner Hunter divisions. The event will also feature the Tampa Series Hunter High Score Circuit Awards in several hunter divisions. The awards will be presented during the 40th Annual $200,000 Gene Mische American Invitational presented by G & C Farm, at Raymond James Stadium.
The first week of competition, the Tampa Bay Classic March 28-April 1, will feature judges Gary Duffy, R. Scott Evans, and Meredith McLaughlin. During the Tournament of Champions, held April 3-7, 2012, Ronnie Beard, Leo Conroy, and Linda Hough will judge the hunter rings. In the jumper ring, courses will be designed by Michel Vaillancourt during the first week, and Jose Gamarra during the second week.
"Tampa has great restaurants and the hotels are very close to the show grounds," explained trainer Don Stewart. "They have nice footing, they have permanent stabling, and we love the jumps. They always have great hospitality, so what more could we ask for?"
Trainer Bobby Braswell added, "I love the Tampa Equestrian Series. It's a great facility, it's a great town and we've always enjoyed going and doing the hunters there. I've done that show for over 30 years. The stabling is permanent which is great, all of the rings are all-weather now, and there is a beautiful spectator pavilion. It's a great showground!"
