2015 NRHA European Futurity: Ancillary Action

Kreuth, Germany – Following the qualifying go-round of the NRHA Open European Futurity and the KL Performance Horses Non Pro Futurity, NRHA ancillary action hit the stage in Kreuth.

Opening the day was the €3,500-added NRHA Intermediate Open.  With a 217.5, Markus Schopfer won the class riding his Jokin Whiz, a stallion by Who Whiz It and out of Jokin Peppy (by Hangten Peppy). “I purchased this horse at the end of last year and showed him for the first time in the NRHA Rome Shoot In in January,” said the Italian trainer. “I really like him and I look forward to showing him in the Open on Friday.

Second place honors in this class went to Terry Schultz of Switzerland aboard his Don With Chrome (Don Quintana x Great Mega Pine x Chrome Plated Pine). The duo closed their run with a 213.5.

Earning top honors in the €450-added NRHA Limited Open was Lukas Czechowich. The Polish rider closed his run with a 212.5 with Tejano Revolution (Einsteins Revolution x La Tigra Tejana), a 6-year-old gelding owned by Katarzyna Roleska, between the reins. Fellow countryman, Bogdan Czarnik, posted a 208.5 riding the 8-year-old stallion, Final Smoking Gun (The Big Gun x Jesters Final Chex), for owner Bartosz Kotowicz.

The €2,500-added Arcese Intermediate Non Pro counted 28 entries and was run class-in-class with the €450-added Arcese Limited Non Pro which counted 45.

With a score of 214.5, Royal Big Step BB (Wimpys Little Step x Little Royal BH), a 6-year-old gelding owned and shown by Dutch Suzanne Scharroo, took the lead in both classes. “I’m really happy with the way my horse went today. He’s a great horse that I bought from the Baeck’s and I cannot wait to show him again at the Italian Derby,” said Susanne about her mount who has close to $17,000 LTE.

Half a point behind, German Ulrike Frey, riding Dreams and Prizes (Magnum Chic Dream x Freckles Prize), a 9-year-old stallion that boasts over $42,000 in NRHA LTE. Ulrike and Manfred Frey are keep supporters of the NRHA European Futurity and have been sponsoring the event since its inception. “My horse is as usual fantastic and I would like to thank Vern (Sapergia) and Sylvia (Rzepka) for their work on him,” said. Ulrike.

Starting the day on Wednesday at 8 am CET will be the Open Futurity and KL Performance Horses Non Pro Consolation followed by Arcese €850-added Novice Horse Non Pro Level 2 and the €5,000-added Open 5 & Up.
