Wellington, FL - The 2010 InterContinental Sport Horse Auction is currently preparing for their unique "European" style auction, set to be held on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at 6:00 p.m., with a preview on Friday, February 12 from 4:30-7:00 p.m. The event will be held at The Ridge Farm in Wellington, Florida. Nona Garson is the host of the InterContinental Sport Horse Auction and she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as an Olympian, Pan American Medal Winner, World Championship Team member, and a member of multiple Nations Cup's Teams.
"We're very excited," commented Garson. "I feel like this is the best group of horses we've ever had, even though we've had some really outstanding hunters, jumpers, and dressage horses that have come through the auction."
The 7th Annual InterContinental Sport Horse Auction is the only event of its kind in the United States, and it will feature 32 hunter, jumper and dressage horses. Garson handpicks each horse that is available at the auction and they are all quality mounts that are either already capable of competing at the top level of the sport, or are prospects that will someday be competing at that level. A pony that came through the auction in 2008 named Cassius Clay ended up as the 2009 USEF Large Green Pony of the Year and won the 2009 USEF Pony Final's Overall Large Green Pony Championship.
The horses that will be available at the auction can currently be viewed online at www.interconsporthorse.com. There are photos, videos, and pedigree information for each horse. Interested parties can register at anytime online to bid at this year's auction, and the public is welcome to attend the preview and the auction. A cocktail party will follow Friday's Preview Presentation of the horses. The auction will draw sponsors, spectators, serious horsemen, owners, and trainers, to the VIP tent, providing beverages and hors de oeuvres.
During this exciting event, Garson will present each horse for bidding as horses and riders enter the VIP tent from the ring. For more information about the 2010 InterContinental Sport Horse Auction, or to register to bid please visit www.interconsporthorse.com.
