2010 Alltech Fortnight Festival Welcomes World With Unprecedented Entertainment


Lexington, KY – With 99 days and a number of odd hours remaining on the countdown clock to the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, title sponsor and global animal health and nutrition company Alltech revealed plans today for its statewide festival during the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™. Beginning on September 23, nightly entertainment will celebrate Kentucky’s moment on the world’s stage in venues from Louisville to Ashland.

“This is Kentucky’s defining moment. Not only will we have hundreds of thousands of visitors from more than 50 countries, but 460 million people around the world are expected to view the unprecedented television coverage,” said Dr. Pearse Lyons, president and founder of Alltech. “We believe a first-class celebration is in order, and that is why our Alltech Fortnight Festival will blanket the state with nightly entertainment throughout the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.”

Programming throughout the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games is also planned for the Alltech Experience Pavilion on the grounds of the Kentucky Horse Park as well as bars and restaurants in various locations across the state. Details on shows in Murray, Morehead, and Lexington will be announced soon.

The Alltech Fortnight Festival was created by Dr. Lyons as a means of building excitement throughout the state for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games while investing in the development of the arts in local communities. In a prelude to the Alltech Games, the Alltech Fortnight Festival has already brought 75 acts to 22 venues in 13 Kentucky cities since 2008.
