Shawna Harding and Come On III Set the Pace and Held the Lead in the All Important Intermediaire I

Setting the early lead with a 70.250 percent, Shawna Harding and Come On III had to wait two days before knowing if they were victorious. In the largest class of the Florida CDI season, the FEI Intermediaire I CDI, took two full days to complete. Second place went to Christopher Hickey and Regent, who also won the FEI Prix St. Georges CDI this weekend. In the I-I, the pair earned a 69.667 percent from the judges. Silke Rembacz and Millenium took third place with a 68.083 percent.

Many of the top placed horse and rider combinations in this division are vying for a spot on the USET Pan American Games Dressage Team to be held this July in Rio De Janerio, Brazil. Harding and her Come On III the eight year old Danish gelding by Come On II, came to Florida from their home base in Aiken, South Carolina and peaked at the 2007 Zada Enterprises LLC WEF Dressage Classic CDI-W/Y, where they returned immediately following the show.

“This is Come On’s first year in the I-1. He is getting stronger and gaining more confidence in the arena.” Harding told DressageDaily. “We had a good test with a few mistakes, leaving room to improve our scores. We hope to go qualify for Gladstone in June and the 7-9 year-old Championships in Lexington in September, and then we’ll see from there.”
