The prestigious Palm Beach Dressage Derby, March 1-4, 2007, will serve as one of the official selection trials for the U.S. Pan American Games team. In addition, the event is also a qualifier for the USEF Grand Prix and Intermediaire I National Championships, the U.S. League Final and U.S. Grand Prix Freestyle Championship. More than $20,000 in prize money and awards will be given to the winners, making the Palm Beach Dressage Derby one of the most lucrative for riders on the dressage circuit.
“The level of competition at the Palm Beach Dressage Derby is always very high,” said Show Manager Evelyn O’Sullivan. “We are very excited to once again serve as a qualifier and selection trials for the most important dressage championships in the country.”
The riders at the Palm Beach Dressage Derby are like a Who’s Who of international talent. In recent years, competitors have included World Championship team member Leslie Morse, six-time Olympian Robert Dover, Olympian Cesar Parra, World Cup Finalist Arlene Page, Olympian Ashley Holzer, and dozens of other riders who have represented their countries in international championships.
O’Sullivan continued, “Spectators love to come to the Derby. They get to watch the best riders, including many Olympians. We even have spectators who fly in from around the country to watch the Derby as part of their winter vacations.” In addition to the great competition, visitors enjoy the Boutiques at the Dressage Derby shopping area.
Because the Palm Beach Dressage Derby is one of the most prestigious dressage shows in the country, sponsorship interest is always high. Previous sponsors have included Markel Insurance, Phelpsphotos.com, Equestrian Properties, Premier Equestrian Arena Products and Dietrich Insurance to name just a few. Several packages from $1,500 class sponsorship to the Title Sponsor are still available.
For those sponsors looking for a great opportunity, packages for a two-year commitment (2007 and 2008) are available at a special price and with special benefits. The 2008 Derby will include a 25th Anniversary Celebration and will serve as one of the official selection trials for the 2008 US Olympic team. “We feel that our sponsorship program offers incredible value for those companies and businesses interested in reaching high-caliber dressage riders as well as the Florida horse community,” O’Sullivan commented.
