During the 1996 Olympic Games, the Internet had just begun to take hold throughout the world. The then newly established USET (United States Equestrian Team) website, reported on America's huge success at winning Olympic medals in all three disciplines of equestrian sport.

Phelps Photos® was there, recording equestrian history, and making it, by having some of the first images to appear on the Internet reporting on the Olympic Equestrian Games.

In 1997 Mary Phelps established HorsesDaily®.com (then PhelpsPhotos®.com) with the belief that the Internet was here to stay. Getting a foothold on the ground floor was critical to the vision of how the company could grow by providing a needed service to the audience she understood so well.
